Notes on ELF by Jeff Bringle:

The idea for “ELF” was hatched in a Business Law Class in 1976 during a particularly droning lecture on Torts. My mind detached itself and went into stream of consciousness mode as is evident by the lyrics. It remained in the “Box o’ Future Songs” until late in 2011 when I was outlining tunes for this CD.

 By a twist of fate, how most of this happens, I had some musical ideas that related enough with said lyrics to give it a go this time around.

Needless to say, my influences at the time, YES, Rush, ELP, and Pink Floyd are reflected in ‘ELF’, as is my misguided attempt to mimic the voice of YES’ Jon Anderson for which I’ll apologize here and now.
